Hexworthy Mine

Hexworthy Mine grew out of the smaller mines called Skir Gut, Hooten Wheals, and Hensroost Mine. The walk is about 1.3 miles each way depending on who is navigating. Despite it appearing to be an easy walk there is every chance that we may not get within a mile of the mines.

En route to Hexworthy we could stop and look at Dunnabridge Pound and the Judges Chair. That will take five minutes and be worth every second.

After that another five minute stop to look at the curious Huccaby Church which was built with a dual purpose in mind.

The start is near the Forest Inn at Hexworthy which may be a suitable place for a sherbert after the walk. By happy coincidence or more likely complete irrelevance I have just noticed that 3/4 of a mile NW there is a place called Sherberton. It must be a sign.

From Google Earth the scarring can be seen.
